The contract includes not only the reception and treatment of drilling waste but also waste advisory services and initiatives that support Aker BP’s sustainability strategy. In line with SAR’s vision, “Turning Waste to Value”, part of the drilling waste will be recycled and transformed into new products.

“The key success factors for our deliveries are meeting customer needs in a predictable manner in terms of time, cost, and quality,” says Christer Engstrøm, Department Manager at SAR’s cuttings treatment facility in Risavika.

“Aker BP is known for its strong focus on continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and reducing environmental impact. We are very pleased that this partnership is continuing, and we would like to thank all our employees who have contributed to earning this trust,” says Håvard Smørdal, Contract Manager at SAR.

“For us, it is important to view the entire value chain holistically and create value for both the customer and other stakeholders, while also supporting Aker BP’s goals of reducing waste volumes and improving resource utilization,” emphasizes CEO Tor Olav Schibevaag.
