For SAR, it is crucial to invest in projects that have a direct and positive impact on the work we perform daily as a total provider of environmental services. We aim to prioritize circularity, sustainability, and environmental protection in all the solutions and decisions we make.

One of SAR's environmental advisors, Håvard Nateland, is the working group leader for the revision project of the NS9431 standard for waste classification. This project is organized by Standard Norge and involves many skilled players from the waste industry, including NFFA (Norwegian Association for Hazardous Waste) in an observer role, with broad participation from various industry working groups. For SAR, it is important to invest in and set direction for work that promotes environmental protection and sustainability.

With his extensive experience and expertise, Håvard plays a crucial role in leading this work. The ongoing effort is highly significant for the industry and society, aiming to revise the waste codes in the 7000 series by fall 2024. Simultaneously, waste codes in other series (such as plastic fractions, glass fractions, metal fractions, textiles, packaging, etc.) are also being revised, which are highly relevant to the industry. This revision will result in more efficient and precise waste codes, benefiting not only the industry but also our customers, partners, authorities, and, most importantly, the environment!

Håvard Nateland leads a strong SAR team of dedicated environmental advisors who are passionate about innovation and sustainability. Together, they work purposefully to drive development forward.
