World Environment Day is marked on 5 June and this year's theme is "Restore our Earth" with a focus on restoration and rebuilding, planting trees, building green cities, clearing rivers and oceans and changing food consumption.
SAR works continuously to prevent waste from occurring, improve waste sorting and increase the reuse and recycling of waste. Our proactive consultants provide daily advisory services to our clients to help reduce their environmental footprint. Through our advisory services, courses and expertise, we want to create a good collaboration with our customers and partners so that together we can achieve our goal of a more sustainable world.
We mark World Environment Day by focusing on sustainability and the circular economy throughout the waste chain. We do this regularly through our work with industry organizations, authorities and by guiding our customers in safe and sustainable waste management to prevent discharges and pollution to the external environment. In addition, we focus on developing and using our expertise to find new ways to turn waste into a product and in this way contribute to minimal environmental impact.
Sustainability in SAR
For us, sustainability is very important. We recognise that every resource has a life cycle. The goal is to minimise the volume of waste generated and rather retain the resource for as long as possible through its lifecycle. Further by optimizing recycling of the resource and energy recovery we ensure that our customers reduce their environmental footprint

What is World Environment Day?
Since 1974, World Environment Day has been celebrated every year on 5 June, engaging governments, businesses and citizens in an effort to address pressing environmental issues.
The UN Environment Program is responsible for the UN's marking of the day, and they do this in collaboration with a new city or country every year. The theme that is highlighted is also related to environmental problems and challenges that the city or country has. At the same time, all countries, cities and communities are encouraged to mark the day where they are.
Every World Environment Day is hosted by a different country in which official celebrations take place. This year's host is Pakistan..
